About Parbleu
Inge Serné
“Every language is beautiful to those who know how to listen. For in every language, the thoughts of a people and the soul of a person sing out, and that music is universal.” (Johan Daisne)
My name is Inge Serné. I founded Parbleu taalhulp out of my passion for language in general and for the French language in particular — and of course from a love of France and French culture. After studying French Language and Literature at the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam, with a minor in Translation Studies at the University of Amsterdam, I initially put my language skills to use in various roles in the business world. Alongside this, I worked on a number of assignments as a translator.
A few years ago I made the move into education and obtained my senior teaching qualification. I see myself as an entrepreneurial teacher. My main goal is to show young people and adults that language is a means of communication — and above all, something to enjoy. I work as a freelance teacher in mainstream education, and have also gained valuable experience over a number of years in special secondary education.
As a French teacher at the Gunning branch of the Daaf Gelukschool in Haarlem, I worked with students with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder), dyslexia and AD(H)D. I live and work in Zwaanshoek and am also active in Hoofddorp, Haarlem and the surrounding area. Besides language and travel, singing is my greatest hobby — which is why I make extensive use of music in my lessons..
